Early Childhood Teaching Staff:

WCCC’s Early Childhood teachers are an extraordinarily committed and caring group of people. The longevity of their service at WCCC is a testament of their dedication to children and their families. Fully half of our 24 full-time teachers have worked at WCCC for 10 years or more and 18 have worked at WCCC for five years or more. Because there is very little turnover each year, parents and children alike benefit from the depth of our teachers’ experience, educational background, continuing desire to learn about child development, communication skills, and most importantly their kindness, understanding, and consideration towards children.

In each of our seven classrooms, there are three full-time teachers and, in some classrooms, additional part-time teachers. We also have a full-time floating teacher and  After School combination teachers who work part-time in our Early Childhood Program. Our floating teachers cover absences. They get to know the children, the parents and the classroom routines which provides security and consistency to children in our care. Wellesley College student assistants work in our toddler and preschool classrooms during the academic year.

All teachers have Masters, Bachelors, or Associates Degrees, have certification from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, and are trained in First Aid and CPR.

An Administrative Assistant, an Early Childhood Program Director, and an Executive Director round out the staff and are available to answer questions or address concerns.

After School Teaching Staff:

At each of WCCC’s After School sites, we have a Site Coordinator and, depending on enrollment, one to three teachers. Two After School Program Directors share staff supervision, help with programming and get to know the children and families at each of our seven After School sites. The Administrative Assistant and Executive Director round out the team at WCCC’s After School Program.

WCCC’s After School Directors and Teachers are highly qualified and talented professionals. Each staff member has experience working with children and a strong commitment to providing quality after school care. They bring their own experiences and knowledge to curriculum planning which helps to make our programs unique and diverse.

All of our teachers value the warm, caring relationships they develop with both the children and parents in our program. They feel fortunate to be able to be part of your children’s lives during their after school hours. As teachers return from year to year, it is exciting for us to see progress, growth and change in all areas of the children’s development.
